RRI launches visual radio

The state radio network of Indonesia, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI LPP), launched DAB + last week in the form of studio media convergence, media radio visual, and optimization of RRI DAB channels.

RRI’s Knvergensi Studio is not only limited to audio, but also combines audio, video, and text.

This type of visual radio can then be displayed like television.

This will be supported by optimizing DAB+ transmitters which broadcast with digital RRI.

The launch was inaugurated by the Director General of Communications and Public Information (KIP) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Niken Widiastuti in RRI Building, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jakarta.

Herman Zuhdi, Head of LPP RRI Jakarta, said that this transformation is to prove to the media that RRI radio is not outdated and added: “It is one pillar against public stigma that qualified RRI as an old school. With a program like this, RRI is experiencing an unprecedented transformation.”

With the development of technology and facilities owned, says Herman, RRI is ready to become a mouthpiece to broadcast government programs that are useful for the people’s interests.

RRI broadcasts all over Indonesia and abroad. Its national news network Pro-3 broadcasts on 999kHz AM and 88.8MHz FM in the Jakarta area and is relayed by satellite and on FM in many Indonesian cities. Three other services are transmitted to the Jakarta area: Pro-1, Pro-2 and Pro-4.
