RED FM Launches Public Toilet Locator App

Indian network 93.5 RED FM recently launched a public toilet locator app called the ‘EK No.’ (Number One) in Indore.

The app gives directions to the nearest toilet in a particular area of the city.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, launched the app, encouraging citizens to maintain sanitation and hygiene in the city by combating the menace of peeing in the public.

Speaker of the Indian parliament Sumitra Mahajan, central minister Nitin Gadkari and Indore Mayor Malini Lakshman Singh Gaur were also present at the event.

As a part of the app’s promotions, the station also plans to spread awareness through special on- air programmes asking listeners to download the app and use toilets in the city.

The RJs will urge users to share their feedback on the condition of public toilets through the app itself. The feedback will be collected and shared with the municipal department to improve the conditions of public toilets in the city.

RED FM developed this app with the help of a team of young app developers from Indoreover a period of three months.

Commenting on the initiative, Nisha Narayanan, COO, 93.5 RED FM, said: “We are constantly looking for opportunities to unbox radio for our listeners, create more touchpoints for our ardent followers and offer meaningful engagement. The fact that the ministry readily agreed to launch it and encouraged us to take similar initiatives in other states as well speaks a great deal about our efforts. This app can be downloaded for free by android users from Google Play Store.”
