Bangkok’s newest radio station, Virgin Star FM 98 had its formal launch party last Thursday, a few months after going on air.

The showbiz gathering was postponed due to Thailand’s recent military coup, during which many radio and TV channels were shut down.

The launch party had a Red & Silver theme which complemented the station’s logo colours.

The event also featured a mini concert by top Thai pop star “Ben Chalatit” and and an appearance by Miss Thailand World.

Virgin Star is the third BEC-Tero owned station in the country, the company also runs Eazy FM 105.5 and 95.5 Virgin Hitz.

Virgin Star FM 98 plays current Thai adult contemporary music, with a sprinkling of international AC hits.

According to a release, the station is aimed at listeners who like more music and less commercials and promises no more than two ads during any break.

The station features a lineup of DJs including is Luckana “DJ Aon” Huangmaneeroonroj, together with singer, Chinon “DJ Off” Chantem, Nattapon “DJ Nat” Sirichainaruemit and Marut “DJ Man” Manakul.
