Reality show winner gets radio, TV, print contracts

Malaysian Khairu Norliza Khairuddin has won Projek Metro – a reality show on TV3 to find a multi-talented broadcasting personality.

She won a year’s contract with Media Prima station HotFM along with US$6000, and other contracts with newspaper Harian Metro and TV3.

Participants had to jump through a number of hoops including auditioning as a HotFM radio DJ, doing social service, writing a column for Harian Metro and hosting a travelogue programme.

Norliza, 27, is a former assistant producer and scriptwriter with a diploma in broadcasting from Malaysia’s Institute of Integrative Media.

Projek Metro is a collaboration project among Media Prima platforms, namely Harian Metro, TV3 and HotFM.

Last September, out of 500 aspirants, nine were selected to compete in the show.
