The first session of Radio Days Europe in Vienna has begun, and the world is listening.
Opening the conference, Monika Eigensperger from OAF, Australia’s national broadcaster, told the 1600 delegates there will be 130 speakers during the conference from countries from all around the world.
Corinna Drumm (pictured) , the Director General of the Austrian commercial broadcasting body VOP, said the two normally competitive sectors have worked together to host this conference.
Commercial radio only began in Austria 20 years ago, previously the landscape was dominated by the public broadcaster.
