Radio station gives away 27,643 miracles to people who really need them

While some stations give away cars, houses and cash prizes of up to $1 million, one network has given away thousands of genuine miracles.

Melbourne’s 89.9 LightFM along with a network of community broadcasters has helped 27,643 people regain their vision in some of the world’s poorest places.

A spokesman for the network said, “A joint venture between a network of family focussed, positive radio stations, and a not for profit with great imagination has shown that ‘return on investment’ is not always related to profit.”

Supporting the work of CBM Australia, MSA Community Network of stations broadcast live from remote Vietnam throughout their network of 638 Australian radio signals.

The campaign culminated in Miracles Day on Thursday 25 August where listeners and social media followers rallied to provide the funds for cataract operations to restore the sight of some of the poorest people in the world.

“As of 5/9/2016 27,643 people will now see as a result of this campaign, this is the ultimate measure of making a difference with an engaging broadcast,” said LightFM Sales Director Daryl Mitchell“The campaign was a great execution of our radio, social media and mobile platforms.”
