Radio Pakistan imports and tests 20 GatesAir DRM transmitters

At this week's Digital Broadcasting Symposium, Digital Radio Mondiale's Ruxandra Obreja revealed news from Pakistan about the latest developments in digital radio broadcasting in that country.

Radio Pakistan has taken first steps to digital migration,” said Obreja.

“They have imported 20 DRM+ Transmitters from Gartes Air and have successfully tested one transmitter so far…

“The next step is to promote digital technology in the country and plan field trials across the country.”

Radio Pakistan joined the non profit DRM Consortium in 2015 and last month announced that it is planning to convert its AM and FM transmitters to DRM+ technology. News from the conference confirms that Pakistan is moving quickly to implement its future transmission plans.
