Radio City Freedom Awards return for fourth season

 

India’s Radio City 91.1 FM is back with the 4th edition its Freedom Awards – a platform to recognize and reward independent music artists across genres and languages. 

This theme for this year’s awards is ‘Sounds of the Soil’ which will be an ode to local sounds, heroes, stories and music.

The first Freedom concert kick starts on January 25 in Bengaluru and features popular Indie bands – Aathma, Kurangan & Saby Singh.  

It will be followed by five more gigs and a grand finale and awards night on March 22.

The awards are open to entries from Indian artists across the globe in 11 categories.

These include Best Hip-Hop / Rap Artist, Best Folk Fusion Artist, Best Pop Artist, Best Rock Artist, Best Metal Artist, Best Electronica Artist, Best Video, Best Album Art, Best Young Indie Artist/Band, Best Indie Collaboration of the year and Indie Genius- Person of the year.

Musicians can send across their entries starting from February 4 and they will be shortlisted by an eminent jury comprising of industry veterans and experts from the Indie music community.

The shortlisted entries will later be open for public voting.

Based on on-ground, on-line and on-air content, RCFA 4.0 is not ONE event but a season long ‘MOVEMENT’. This musical sojourn will cut across the musical heartbeats of the country.”
