PUP’s Young Communicators’ Guild to hold Radio Conference 2021

The Polytehnic University of the Philippines (PUP)'s DZMC-Young Communicator's Guild will hold the eighth edition of PUP Radio Conference 2021 on March 12, via Facebook Live and Zoom.

Dubbed “EPIKO: Radio in the Eye of Truth-tellers”, the conference will feature survival stories of various radio and media professionals in different eras.

It will include the following topics:

  • The Climate of Media Freedom and Independence
  • When Alternative Facts Replace Actual Facts
  • The Digital Transformation of the Radio Industry
  • The Role of Radio amidst the Health Crisis

With the help of some well- known personalities in the radio industry, the conference will also tackle the key role of radio in historical events that helped shape society and debunk misinformation.

This year also marks the debut of PUP Radio Festival, a competition that aims to showcase students’ talents, skills, and creativity in radio production.

The competition is open to all students nationwide and offers three categories open for competing, namely: 5-minute Radio News Production, Radio Podcasting, and Radio Jingle Making.

Best outputs and special recognitions will be awarded to outstanding entries on March 14.

“This edition of the PUP Radio Conference would have to be the most daring yet in the past 7 years. Plus, this is the first time we will be commencing it online,” said PUP conference project head Francis Aron Riano.
