India’s public broadcaster Prasar Bharati held an outreach event on the various services it provides at Bengaluru on Sunday.

This included a roadshow on the radio services in DRM digital being provided by All India Radio (AIR). The roadshow on DRM was held ahead of the India South Africa T20 Cricket match. Live commentary of the cricket match is being provided by AIR on all the 35 high power MW DRM transmitters installed by AIR.

DRM Journaline service giving agriculture produce market rates was also on display.

Shashi Shekhar Vempati, CEO Prasar Bharati had earlier mentioned that after their successful coverage of World Cup 2019, All India Radio (AIR) has now partnered with BCCI (board of Cricket Control in India) to provide live commentary for two years.

He also said: “After a long hiatus, cricket commentary on radio has returned to All India Radio for matches held in India. Prasar Bharati is thankful to BCCI for arriving at this multi-year agreement that covers international and domestic cricket in India.”
