Prank call reveals dirty side of Indian politics

RJ Naved – a radio jockey on Radio Mirchi – picked up extensive media coverage for a recent prank call on the Delhi station linked to India’s general elections.

In one of the episodes of a feature called ‘Radio Murga’, which has since gone viral, he showed how peaceful people from two different communities can be misled into hating each other by politicians.

He was motivated to come up with the idea when he saw two people displaying religious hatred towards each other on social media during the recently concluded general elections in the country.

A Hindu person had written offensive things about Muslims, and a Muslim had said offensive things about Hindus on Facebook.

RJ Naved made them realise their errors thanks to a simple phone call on air.

Speaking to BestMediaInfo, he said:  “I am happy that my small effort not only made the duo feel ashamed of their activity, but it has also got such good reviews.”
