Power 98 ‘Ultimate Selfie’ sets up National Day

Singapore’s Power 98 FM is asking fans to upload their ‘Ultimate Singapore Selfie’ to help celebrate National Day on August 9.

The SAFRA stations is giving away tickets to the annual National Day Parade (NDP) to the lucky winners who take patriotic photos.

The pics can include any Singapore symbol including the national flag or the Merlion.

Fans must upload their selfies to Instagram by August 6 for a chance to win tickets to the sell-out event.

The NDP commemorates the country’s independence on August 9, 1965.

Singapore, a former British colony, was for a short time part of the Federation of Malaysia, but broke away after two years.

NDP is held in a huge ground overlooking the Central Business District and Marina Bay Sands hotel and casino.

The show features spectacular floats, a military parade and a fireworks show.

Around 3,000 performers will take part this year around the theme ‘Our People, Our Home’.

At the venue, spectators can enjoy the largest multimedia set-up in NDP history with 1,500sq m of LED screens and 80m by 40m worth of floor projection.
