Mixcloud & IRF Online Radio Awards Winners

Winners of the inaugural Mixcloud & IRF Online Radio Awards representing online radio shows and stations from all over the world have been announced.

New Zealand’s Base FM 107.3 won the ‘Best Asia/Pacific Station’ award.

Launched in 2004, Base FM is a community station for upcoming and established music talent.

The overall winner of the ‘Best Online Radio Show’ was Solid Steel Radio Show and the ‘Best Online Radio Station’ was NTS Radio.

Online Radio Awards 2014 recognised outstanding curatorship, production and creative talent within the online radio industry.

Over 20,000 votes were registered and 60 Radio Shows and 25 Radio Stations were shortlisted and passed on to a panel of industry judges

The panel of judges which included Tony Prince (DMC), Brad Wete (Billboard), Karen Pearson (Folded Wing) and Phil Catchpole (British Council).

Winners will be flown to Zurich to have their show aired to a global audience at the International Radio Festival from September 3 to 7 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Mixcloud Co-founder Nikhil Shah said: “We decided to start these awards to showcase and celebrate the amazing talent in the online radio industry, and the winners are testament to that.”
