Misty arranges musical and mini-marathon for Hindu festival

India’s Radio Misty 94.3fm has aired its own musical in celebration of the Hindu festival of Durga Puja.

The station, which broadcasts to North Bengal and Sikkim, launched the special show on Mahalaya, the first of a six-day worship of the Hindu Goddess Durga, which began on Tuesday.

Former India football captain and Olympian Chuni Goswami was also roped in to inaugurate the station’s 6 kilometre Fraternity run, which also took place on Tuesday.

Radio Misty is sending teams to Puja pandals (temporary stalls) to give away prizes and is planning several live broadcasts over the remaining days of the festival.

The station has also invited celebrities from different walk of life to share their childhood memories of the Puja festival.

Nishant Mittal, Chief Executive Officer of Radio Misty said: “Durga Puja is the biggest festival in the region.  Radio Misty always believes in local connect and innovations. So we are having our teams all over region so listeners can get updates on this Puja.”
