Media Prima Audio rebrands Kool 101 as Kool FM

Malaysia’s Media Prima Audio (MPA) has rebranded Kool 101 with a new name and identity — Kool FM.

According to a statement by the company, the rebranding represents a complete transformation of the station’s direction and mission.

With a fresh visual identity and the spirited new tagline ‘Malaysia Dah Kool,’ the station is stepping into a new era that celebrates progress, inclusivity, and national pride. The tagline embodies the confidence of modern Malaysians, who are progressive, open-minded, and proud of their local identity.

Kool FM’s head of content, Ainul Farhana Razali, described the rebranding as a milestone in the station’s ongoing journey to remain relevant and connected to its audience.

“It’s a renewed spirit, one that celebrates positivity, openness, and the progressive lifestyle of Malaysians who are informed, expressive, and enjoy entertainment in their own way,” she said.

She added that Kool FM’s expansion into three new regions — Johor Bahru, Melaka, and Ipoh — will allow the station to reach a wider audience across the country. This expansion allows listeners in the new areas to tune in via radio in addition to the Audio+ app, which streams Kool FM nationwide.

Kool FM broadcasts across these frequencies – 101.3 FM (Klang Valley), 90.2 FM (Penang), 107.3 FM (Alor Setar), 104.3 FM (Kuching), 87.6 FM (Ipoh), 88.1 FM (Melaka and Northern Johor), and 105.3 FM (Johor Bahru).
