Kiss 92 number one English station by share

Kiss92 has retained its position as Singapore’s number one English music radio station based on share of listenership, according to the latest Nielsen radio survey.

A spokesperson for owners SPH Radio told Asia Radio Today that Kiss achieved a 6.4 percent share, followed by MediaCorp’s Gold 90.5fm at 5.8 percent and Class 95 at 4.9 percent share.

During the latest diary research which took place in April/May, Kiss 92’s cumulative figures saw 89,000 new fans taking its overall listenership to 574,000.

The station says it overtook MediaCorp’s GOLD 90.5fm to claim the number two spot in terms of cume among English radio stations.

This survey saw all SPH Radio stations make it into the Top 10 positions with Chinese station UFM 100.3’s listenership increasing from 266,000 to 320,000.

Youth station HOT FM91.3’s listenership is now at 318,000 with an increase in percentage share and time spent listening.

Mr Sim Hong Huat, Deputy General Manager of SPH Radio, said: “We are thankful to our fans and partners for supporting us and keeping the momentum going. The team is working on rolling out more exciting campaigns that will engage fans. So keep a look out for them.”

Commenting on the results for Kiss92, Mr Jamie Meldrum, Senior Program Director for Kiss92 & Hot FM91.3, SPH Radio, said: “The team is overjoyed by the great results and we are truly thankful to our fans that have made this possible.”

Ms Carine Ang, Program Director for UFM100.3, SPH Radio, said: “We’ve strived to play the best music for our listeners and we are encouraged by the upward trend of our listenership. The team is more motivated than ever to deliver the perfect UFM100.3 for our fans.”

Nielsen’s research is released to stations but not publicly and cannot be independently verified.
