Indian actress donates Diwali prizes to underprivileged children

A game show created by 92.7 BIG FM for Diwali, the Hindu festival of light, has attracted the interest of Bollywood actress Pooja Chopra.

Big Socho…Big Jeeto gives listeners the chance to win prizes and donate them to local charities.

When Chopra, a former Miss India, turned up at BIG FM’s Mumbai studios, she was invited to played the game live on air.

After winning several prizes, she donated them all to the NGO Project Crayons, which does social work with disadvantaged children.

Several youngsters helped by the organisation also turned up at the studios to meet their heroine.

Chopra said of the experience: “I am extremely thankful to 92.7 BIG FM for inviting me to be a part of this event. I have always worked for the welfare of young girls since my beauty pageant days and this initiative is close to my heart. Donating my prizes to children from Project Crayon gave me immense pleasure and am hoping this will be a good start to their Diwali.”

BIG Socho…BIG Jeeto is running every hour until Sunday and has seen other well-known personalities take part.
