India: Prasar Bharti signs MoU with Qatar Media Corporation

India’s public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar Media Corporation to increase co-operation in the field of broadcasting between the two countries on Wednesday.

The signing ceremony took place in New Delhi in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The Indian side was represented by Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, Jawhar Sircar and Qatari side by the Ambassador of Qatar to India Ahmed Ibrahim Abdulla Al Abdulla.

The MoU seeks to encourage the exchange of content that highlights the national characteristics, cultural and heritage, social events, festivals and competitions of both the countries.

Prasar Bharti also hopes to enrich the content on All India Radio and Doordarshan television by strengthening coordination in regional and international forums, conferences and meetings.
