India Independence: 36 stations go live from border

India’s 92.7 BIG FM is celebrating the country’s 68th Independence Day with a broadcast from Wagah Border to its 36 Hindi language stations.

The initiative ‘BIG Paigham – Sarhad Ke Naam’ (Big message dedicated to the border) will see its jocks interact with Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers at the country’s border with Pakistan.

On August 15, three of its presenters – RJ Siddharth, RJ Neelesh Misra and RJ Prateek will visit the border towns of Wagah and Attari in the state of Punjab.

They will carry along specially recorded messages and gifts from friends and family to the soldiers.

A live storytelling event based on the life of a soldier will be hosted at the Attari border by night show RJ Neelesh Misra and his team.

Delhi’s RJ Prateek will travel to Wagah border on a bike, collecting gifts and messages for soldiers from people along the way.

Mumbai breakfast RJ Siddharth will interact with the soldiers and provide live updates on air.

Speaking of this initiative, Ashwin Padmanabhan, National Business Head, 92.7 BIG FM stated: “Through this initiative, we wish to make Independence Day a livelier and happier celebration for our soldiers.”
