Malaysia’s Hitz FM has captured the current craze for ‘selfies’ or self-taken photographs for a brand new contest called ‘Hitz RM30K Selfie’.

Fans of the station can win a share of $9265 (RM30000)by taking ‘selfies’, and posting them on social media.

Participants have to snap a photo of themselves and upload it with hashtag #hitzSelfie to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

Hitz announcers will pick their favourite selfie and scan through the sender’s social media account to give clues about his or her identity on-air and on Facebook, based on their photos.

The listener who thinks he or she is being talked about, has to call the station and give his or her username to win RM250 cash.

If the chosen fan doesn’t call in during the given time, the prize money snowballs to the next chosen selfie.

Participants can also win a mystery prize on top of the cash if their selfie has a Hitz FM element to it.
