GatesAir’s webinar on Next Generation Radio Transmission Systems

In light of several canceled/postponed industry events around the world in 2020, GatesAir is presenting a special schedule of webinars and online events to keep you informed and engaged. This includes new product updates, topical presentations, round tables with special guests, and even “virtual booth meetings” to help personally support their broadcasting needs.

One of the recent webinars in this series was titled Next Generation Radio Transmission Systems  and featured a review of new products and features for delivery of radio content by Ted Lantz, VP/GM Radio Products Group.

He looked at the range of products from low- to high-power, including advances in high-efficiency transmission, HD Radio, DAB and DRM solutions.

New products included IPLink 100E for low as well as high-powered transmitters. It offers broadcasters reliable transport streams and support for backup audio.

Flexiva 15 kW supports analog or digital FM, with 72% AC to RF efficiency and gives complete backup control.

The air-cooled Flexiva compact series ranges from 50W to 3.5kW. They offer more than 80% efficiency and support all digital standards: HD, DRM+ and CDR.

The Flexiva LX series Low Powered transmitters range from 100W to 1kW with standard digital multiband audio processor.

Flexiva (FAX) air cooled high-power FM and digital transmitters range from 5kW to 80kW, with the smallest footprint and the smallest volume. Flexiva (FLX) liquid cooled range from 10kW to 80kW.

Maxiva VAXT DAB Ultra Compact Series ranges from 80 watts to 750 watts with touch screen LCD for set up.

MultiCarrier DAB Transmitter is a unique solution only available from GatesAir. It allows up to 3 DAB+ Carriers to be generated or re-transmitted through a single amplifier, advanced pre-correction and linear broadband amplification, is more economic than standard solutions, more compact, less expensive to operate and consumes lower power.

One of the viewers asked if it was possible for the Flexiva compact to have both an IPL 100e card and an HD XGen card as well. Ted said that it was possible to have theose as well as GPS in the system.
