MediaCorp’s song writing competition to celebrate SG50 – 50 years of Singapore’s independence, ‘The Gift of Song’ recently unveiled its three finalist songs on Wednesday.

The names of the three finalists who wrote the songs were announced in November and now their songs will be put to a vote by the public.

Each song has also been made into a music video featuring winners from MediaCorp’s talent shows.

Finalist Alfred Sim’s song features Channel U’s Project Super Star winners, winners of Channel 5’s The Final 1 are in Farisha Ishak’s song and the third finalist Shabir’s song has winners from Vasantham’s show Vasantham Star.

The songs are also being played across MediaCorp’s radio stations.

Public voting, which makes up 60 percent of the overall scores, is open till March 1.

The winning song, to be released in the lead-up to National Day Parade in August, will also receive a cash prize of $10,000.
