Entries to NY Festivals Radio Awards closing soon

The deadline for sending entries to this year’s New York Festivals   is March 19.

New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards honours work in radio broadcasting receiving entries from radio stations, networks, and independent producers from 32 countries around the globe.

Last year, the 2014 Grand Jury honoured two exceptional programs with Grand Trophies: “The Girl Who Got Tied Down” Swedish Radio and “The Dambusters 70 Years On” TBI Media with Snappin’ Turtle Productions. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation earned the title of Broadcaster of the Year and TBI Media UK earned Production Company of the Year.

New York Festivals Radio Awards   is comprised of prominent international executives immersed in the radio broadcasting industry.

“Our world is filled with stories – stories are how we track our lives, learn about others – and develop empathy and understanding of the world. Broadcasting at its best informs, entertains, inspires and persuades, but most importantly, it connects people to one another through our stories,” commented 2015 Advisory Board and Grand Jury Member Valerie Geller, President, Geller Media.

Rose Anderson, Executive Director of New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards unveiled the following   for 2015: Best Journalist and Best Music Program Host were added to On-Air Talent and Best Innovation was added to showcase creative and technical innovations in radio broadcasting.

Commenting on the recent category updates, she said: “By including audio books into NYF’s Radio Awards we move towards a more robust and comprehensive recognition of all the aspects of the spoken word transmitted today. Our categories for Sound Art and Best Innovation recognise the limitless advances of creativity and our categories for Best Journalist, and Best Music Program host honor the artistry and dedication of the individuals at the mic.”

The 2015 competition will award the World’s Best Radio Programs on Monday, June 22 at a ceremony at   in New York City.
