DRM to showcase new products at BES event

The Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM)™ Consortium will offer visitors a chance to experience a range of its new products at the 21st International Broadcasting Engineering Society of India (BES) conference and exhibition.

The event, which focuses on terrestrial and satellite broadcasting, will be held in New Delhi between January 15 and 17.

Along with an Emergency Warning Functionality (EWF) tutorial and demo, DRM will also be offering its new receiver developed in and produced for India.

Visitors can also experience DRM in car through Visteon’s digital radio concept – the first DRM™ solution designed specifically for Indian automotive market with near-FM sound quality, ease-of-use and wide range of audio content, text and data.

Visteon will also demonstrate its ‘Open Air’ platform to show how DRM can enhance consumer experience through data services, audio services in more than one language in parallel, easier tuning and selection of programs.

Ruxandra Obreja, DRM Chairman, said: “We want to demonstrate that the DRM standard is not for the future but for now. It can offer content in several languages simultaneously, thus enabling ‘unity in diversity’, spectrum efficiency and energy savings of up to 75%.”
