Hong Kong’s Commercial Radio has been criticised for moving its outspoken morning host to the evening show amid claims the station wants to please Beijing.
Lee Wai-ling will be replaced by the company’s Chief Executive Stephen Chan for the breakfast show On A Clear Day.
Critics say the decision was made because the station wanted to avoid controversy in the lead-up to its licence renewal in 2016.
But Chan says the decision is unrelated.
One Hong Kong commentator told public broadcaster RTHK the decision was “politically motivated”.
