CRI officials meet their Thai counterparts

China Radio International (CRI) executives met their counterparts in Thailand on Wednesday as part of an eight year cooperation agreement.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed in 2005, has led to several programmes including exchanges of personnel.

Thai is one of 65 languages that CRI broadcasts in.

Radio Thailand also airs programmes in Chinese.

Thai officials said the meeting was set up to look for ways for further cooperation and comes after a similar session in Beijing, China in September 2012.

Radio Thailand’s World Service can be heard on shortwave and also broadcasts Thai, English, Lao, Burmese, Khmer, Malay, German, Japanese and Vietnamese.
