Cannes Lions radio shortlist announced

Billed as the only truly global meeting place for creative professionals, the Cannes Lions team have announced their 2014 radio shortlist.

The region has faired well in the selection process with commercials from several countries making the cut.

In the ‘Foods’ category, ads for Mars Thailand / Snickers by BBDO Proximity and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s three-ad campaign for Mars Chocolate / M&M’s have been shortlisted.

Other Australian entries include Saatchi & Saaatchi Sydney’s work for Capi Sprakling / Mineral Water in the ‘Non-Alcoholic Drinks’ category and for Luxottica Australia / OPSM eye exams in the ‘Retail Stores’ category.

IMPACT BBDO Dubai’s campaign for Commercial Insurance / Travel Insurance has been selected in three categories: ‘Banking, Investment & Insurance’, ‘Use of Music and/or Sound Design’ and ‘Scriptwriting’.

There are three shortlisted entries from India – Mccann Worldgroup, Mumbai for its work for the travel portal Yatra.com in ‘Travel, Transport & Tourism’ and in the ‘Public Awareness Messages’ category Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai’s ad for Mumbai Police  titled ‘Train’ and JWT, Mumbai’s work for Mukti Foundation have been nominated.

Cheil Worldwide UAE’s campaign for Samsung and BBDO Proximity Singapore’s work for Olympus Malaysia are nominated in the ‘Home Appliances, Furnishings, Electronics and Audio Visual’ category.

For ‘Use of Radio as a Medium’ DDB Group Singapore’s work for MediacCorp Radio and Ace Saatchi & Saatchi Manila for their work on P&G Distributing Philippines has been shortlisted.
