Bollywood stars do Mumbai radio tour

Two of India’s highest profile celebrities have graced the studios of Mumbai radio stations this week to promote their new film ‘Gori Tere Pyar Mein’ (rough translation What I Would Do For The Love Of A Girl).

Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan visited Radio City and 92.7 BIG FM ahead of the movie’s release on November 22.

FM radio in India, barely 12 years old, struggled to compete with TV and magazines to attract big star names, without paying large appearance fees.

But the duo’s mini interview tour, and other big star names in recent times, is a sign that Bollywood is now seeing the benefits of forging closer relationships with private radio channels.

Kapoor, who’s often outspoken and Khan, who stays out of the media spotlight, began filming the romantic comedy in February this year.

But with several stars pulling out over issues with the script, there appears to have been more twists and turns in the casting than in the plot.

The film’s soundtrack is already getting regular radio play.
