Indian network Radio City’s new station in Kanpur was launched recently by Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan.

The station, which will broadcast on 104.8 FM, is the network’s sixth station in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

It is the first of the 11 new stations acquired by the network in the recent Phase 3 auctions to be launched.

The other stations that will soon be launched by City include Patiala, Patna, Jamshedpur, Ajmer, Kota, Bikaner, Nasik, Kolhapur, Udaipur and Madurai.

On the occasion of the launch Abraham Thomas, CEO, Radio City, said: “With the launch of Radio City Kanpur, we are excited to foray into the first leg of our Phase III journey and become the strongest radio network in UP covering 6 cities and 39 stations nationally. Kanpur being a significant market for Radio City, we are all geared up to redefine radio entertainment post carving our footprint in metropolitan and tier 2 cities.”
