BIG FM’s Junior RJ hunt for Children’s Day

India’s 92.7 BIG FM has launched the second season of BIG Junior RJ around Children’s Day, November 14.

The company says the contest is the largest platform to identify kids with a talent for radio.

The hunt, which started on November 2 and spanned 44 cities, was judged by comic Kiku Sharda.

Children between the age 6 and 14 years were judged on the basis of parameters such as speech, spontaneity, wit and general awareness.

The initiative also gave an opportunity to less privileged children to join in by tying up with local NGOs.

Five kids were shortlisted and listeners were asked to vote for their favourite contestant with the winner getting a chance to co-host the morning show in their respective cities.

Ashwin Padmanabhan, National Business Head, 92.7 BIG FM said: “Through this activity we aim to discover and recognise the spontaneity and talent in children.”

Commenting on the initiative, actor and celebrity judge Kiku Sharda said: “I am certain that this is a great platform for kids and they are going to learn a lot from the activity.”
