Indian radio network 92.7 BIG FM has roped in its stations in 45 cities for what must be one of the world’s biggest radio talent contests.
The Benadryl BIG Golden Voice contest, which was launched in July, shortlisted 45 singers from each of its stations.

Out of those, 12 finalists have been chosen to sing in the contest final leg which gets underway this weekend.
They will judged by the Golden voice of Bollywood, singer Abhijeet.
The winner will get to sing on the soundtrack to a top Bollywood movie that will release this year or in the first quarter of next year.
From Sunday (August 11) BIG FM is planning a TV-style elimination game on air, which will see 3 singers voted out.
The grand finale will be aired on September 14.
Mr. Ashwin Padmanabhan, Business Head – 92.7 BIG FM said he was “glad that the competition has provided many gifted voices a chance to sing”.
“While the contest encourages talent and provides them with new opportunities to bring out their best, it also presents fresh and exciting content to listeners of 92.7 BIG FM,” he added.
