Big FM brings together Indian and Bangladeshi musicians for concert

India’s 92.7 Big FM marked the 154th birth anniversary of Nobel prize-winning Bengali poet and author Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore with a concert in Kolkatta called ‘Baadh Bhenge Dao’.

The event was specially created for the fans of ‘Rabindra Sangeet’ – songs that were written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore and are characterized by their distinctive rendition while singing.

They feature a significant amount of ornamentation and are filled with expressions of romanticism.

The concert, which was a culmination of a month-long radio campaign by the station to celebrate Tagore;s anniversary,  brought together artists from India and Bangaldesh who share a common love for his works and art.

Lopamudra Mitra and Rupankar Bagchi from Kolkata and renowned Bangladeshi artists Mita Huqand Lily Islam created a soul-stirring evening with the rendition of Tagore’s timeless classics.

Speaking on the occasion,  Ashwin Padmanabhan, Executive Vice President and Business Head, Reliance Broadcast Network Limited stated:“ There was no better way than to bring together two countries who share common love for the literary expert’s songs than an Indo-Bangla musical concert.”
