BBC’s College of Journalism is now open to all

The BBC College of Journalism website is now freely available across the world for a trial period of 12 months.

It was initially launched for internal BBC audience to encourage some of its best journalists to share their knowledge and experience.

Eventually, it was opened up to UK audiences and then to international readers, who needed to subscribe to the site to gain full access to all the material on it.

The site offers a huge library of content like using social media, verifying user-generated content, how to write for the web, how to package for TV, how to interview, reporting the great religions of the world and sports journalism.

The broadcaster has also made its newsroom style guide public for the first time.

BBC is also building up smaller sites in the 27 languages in which it broadcasts.

While 11 of these have already been launched, four more in French (for Africa), Hindi, Indonesian and Turkish will be up in July.
