All public, private and community radio stations in Bangladesh are celebrating World Radio Day (WRD) under the leadership of the national broadcaster Bangladesh Betar. 

The theme for the sixth edition of WRD is ‘Radio Is You!’.

On this occasion Bangladesh Betar will arrange a rally, seminar and cultural program at its premises featuring representatives from media, civil society members and administration, which will be broadcast live.

Minister of Information Hasanul Haq Inu will be the chief guest, while Mortuza Ahmed, Secretary, Ministry of Information will be the special guest in the program.

The day long program starts with a rally at 8 am from Betar Bhaban, Agargaon. It will then travel up to Shishumela and come back.

A discussion will be started at 2 p.m at Betar bhaban premises, Agargaon where Deputy Director General (Program) will give a welcome speech.

Other speakers include Deputy Director General (News), Chief Engineer, Bangladesh Betar and representative from each of the sectors of commercial FM, community radio FM and radio listeners group.
