Singapore’s 987FM saw a huge turnout of fans and listeners at its One Direction Day event on Sunday at Orchard Road.

The event featured a performance by 10 chosen station listeners as part of its ‘Flying You to the Stars’ contest.

The winner, Nicole Jia Yun will now fly to Universal Studios in Orlando to hang out with boy band One Direction.

In the contest, listeners had to post their InstaVideos singing one of band’s songs  with made-up lyrics.

Jia Yun will be joined by Catherine Seah, who was picked from the pool of people who voted for her through a lucky draw held at the event.

One Direction Day was also attended by 987 DJs Gerald Koh, Joakim Gomez, The Muttons – Justin Ang & Vernon A and Kimberly Wang.
