100,000 take part in MY FM music marathon

The third edition of India’s 17-station network 94.3 MY FM’s ‘My Music Marathon’ called ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ took place across 15 cities in the country last Saturday.

The first edition, organised in 2011, held a live concert for 12 hours in a mall and entered the Limca Book of Records.

This year, the spotlight was on the classical rare musical instrument players, who performed and were honoured at the event.

The event was covered live on air and featured instruments like Algoze to Pakhawaj and players nearing 70 years old.

Various musical celebrities like Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Ravindra Upadhyay, Ali Brothers, Rapperiya Balam,  violinist Gulzar Hussain and Meru Nights Groupwere among those who graced the event.

According to the network, the marathon was witnessed by more than 400,000 fans and close to 100,000 people participated in activations across 15 cities.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Harrish M. Bhatia, CEO, 94.3 MY FM, said: “Buoyed by our success of the last two editions, we wanted to deliver a bigger and a better engagement platform.”

Viplove Gupta, National Programming Head, MY FM added: “It was beautiful to see stalwarts getting their due recognition and the younger generation applauding them.”
