100 turn up for auditions for Brunei’s first internet radio

Brunei’s Progresif Cellular, which is gearing up to launch the country’s first mobile radio, saw over 100 people turning up for its open auditions for DJs.

The Progresif Radio app, which is currently undergoing beta testing, is expected to be launched in coming weeks with fresh online content.

The company has invested in broadcasting and recording infrastructure and has already hired some of the nation’s top talents to run Progresif Radio.

The auditions, which were looking for locals who speak English, Malay, Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia or Mandarin and have a voice, personality and passion for radio, were also streamed live.

Devin Edwards, the Chief Marketing Officer of Progresif, told the Borneo Buletin: “The response to our call for auditions was incredible. We are pleased to have so many talented people who are interested in becoming a DJ, and helping to shape the programming and personality for Progresif Radio.”
