Vanstone a permanent Counterpoint voice

Former Howard government minister Amanda Vanstone has turned a guest spot on the ABC’s Radio National into a permanent gig as host of Counterpoint. The former immigration minister stepped into the host’s chair last July following the resignations of Michael Duffy and Paul Comrie-Thompson, the program’s co-hosts since it was launched in 2007. Counterpoint was commissioned by the ABC as a way of answering critics who argued the broadcaster demonstrated left-wing bias and the show was commonly seen as a conservative bolt hole.
