When is dismissal unfair?

Although it‘s becoming increasingly popular in some industries, suing for unfair dismissal in Radio remains rare. As one wag told us, “In this business, if you haven’t been sacked at least a couple of times in your career, you’re just not trying. In fact, getting sacked from certain stations can be a badge of honour”.

Almost everyone in radio has at least one story of how they were dudded by an unscrupulous boss. Yet, they didn’t sue. Why not?

Do you think radio bosses exploit this apparent reluctance? Could the MEAA use a little more aggression? What have they done for you lately?

Tell us your thoughts. Or better still, your experience. But you can’t name names (unless you say something nice) – they might sue.
