Is commercial radio news being dumbed down?

This week’s topic came to us from a question suggested by one of our esteemed subscribers, John Simmons who contacted radioinfo after reading our story on the Walkley’s where the ABC landed all the awards for Radio news and current affair. Commercial Radio didn’t get a look in. Simmons wants to know why? “The absence of Commercial Radio winners in the Walkley Awards prompts the question–Why? he wrote. “It might be interesting to canvas the industry for some objective opinions.”

Perhaps its because commercial radio news is being dumbed down. Perhaps not. Over to you…
