Taiwan and Singapore are top Asian winners at NYF Radio Awards 2026

New York Festivals (NYF) Storytellers Gala have announced the 2026 Radio Awards winners.

Engaging storytelling and audio innovation took centre stage at the 2026 Storytellers Gala virtual event, celebrating the achievements of global creators in radio and podcasting.

This year’s winners reflect the impressive range of the medium, spanning audiobooks, podcasts, drama, documentaries, breaking news, entertainment, and music, and showcasing work from global networks, production companies, and independent storytellers.

Singapore and Taiwan lead the Asian winners with five awards each.

Mediacorp Singapore won a Bronze Tower for News Podcast and four Finalist Diplomas for Education Podcast, Culture & The Arts Podcast, Drama Podcast and Narrative/Documentary Podcast.

Taiwan’s Radio Taiwan International won a Bronze Tower in the Audio Book – Fiction category and Finalist Diplomas in On-Air Talent, Documentary and Culture & The Arts Podcast categories. Taipei Broadcasting Station won a Finalist Diploma in the Programming Format category.

Hong Kong broadcasters took home four awards. Radio 4, RTHK, won the Silver Tower for Music Special in Entertainment Category. RTHK & Guangzhou Broadcasting Network won the Bronze Tower for Drama Special. RTHK – Chinese News and Current Affairs Section won two Finalist Diplomas in Documentary and News Report/Feature categories.

Saudi Arabia’s Energy Radio won two Bronze Towers in the Entertainment and Promotion/Open& ID category. Energy Radio 1 also won two Finalist Diplomas in the same categories.

Al Jazeera Qatar won two awards. A Gold Tower in the Non Fiction Series category and a Finalist Diploma in News Report/Feature category.

India’s Club FM also earned two nods. A Silver Tower for Sound in the Craft category and a Finalist Diploma in Multi-Platform Promotion.

UAE’s The National News won a Silver Tower in the Podcast category.

South Korea’s BeFM Radio took home a Finalist Diploma in the Documentary category.

All entries in the 2026 competition were screened online by NYF’s Radio Awards international Grand Jury of 200+ producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals from around the globe. Submissions were evaluated against a comprehensive set of criteria, including production values, creativity, content presentation, direction, writing, achievement of purpose, and audience suitability.
