In a collaboration between the Saudi Music Commission and Audio & Music at MBC GROUP, the first season of The Laughta Likes Show, an English-language radio and podcast program presented by international artist and music influencer Laughta, launched on MBC LOUD FM on November 7.
Alongside the on-air radio show, the program will also be available as a podcast on Shahid, the region’s first and leading streaming platform by MBC GROUP.
The program aims to highlight Arab voices and showcase emerging musical talents shaping the Saudi and regional music scene.
Building on her background as an international artist and creative storyteller, Laughta shapes the show’s tone and direction with an artist-first approach that blends global flavors with local creativity. Through her unique perspective, the program aims to connect audiences with the human stories, inspirations, and artistic processes driving the region’s evolving music landscape.
Both the radio and podcast versions of The Laughta Likes Show spotlight new and emerging music creators from Saudi Arabia and beyond, blending storytelling, entertainment, and edutainment in a refreshing format. While the podcast offers in-depth conversations with each guest, the radio show focuses on their music, creative journeys, and personal experiences, bringing audiences an interactive mix of dialogue and discovery.
Ziad Hamza, Group Director of Audio & Music at MBC GROUP, said: “This program represents a creative collaboration between MBC GROUP’s Audio & Music department and the Saudi Music Commission; a partnership we’re truly proud of. It reflects our shared goal of supporting local and regional talent, by empowering them, and giving them exposure both in the Arab world and internationally.”
This launch reinforces MBC ‘s Audio & Music position as a leading platform for musical storytelling in the Arab world, bringing together radio, podcasting, and digital innovation under one roof.
Hamza continues: “We’re also proud to collaborate with the talented global artist Laughta, who connects strongly with younger audiences and helps bridge global sounds with local stories; in line with the Music Commission’s efforts to empower homegrown talent.”
Paul Pacifico, CEO of the Saudi Music Commission, added: “Our partnership with MBC’s Audio & Music reflects our shared belief in the importance of nurturing, empowering, and showcasing Saudi music talent through a strong radio platform like MBC LOUD FM, one that engages both local and international listeners. The addition of a podcast version on Shahid, the world’s leading Arabic streaming platform, extends the show’s reach to audiences across the region and beyond. The Laughta Likes Show serves as a platform for cultural exchange, inviting global audiences to discover the vibrancy and innovation of the Saudi music scene.”
