Professionals from private, community and government stations in Eastern India will come together under one roof to celebrate World Radio Day on Thursday.
World Radio Day was proclaimed by UNESCO in 2011 to celebrate radio as a medium, improve cooperation between broadcasters and to encourage major networks and community radio alike to promote access to information, freedom of expression and gender equality over the airwaves.
To mark the occasion, Radio Choklate, BIG FM and RED FM are participating in a seminar about the history, growth and future of radio in India. It has been organised by Radio Choklate RJ Subrat.
The event will also feature Sudha Mishra, Director of All India Radio, along with Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik, founder of Radio Choklate and N A Shah Ansari, Vice President of the Indian community radio association.
Radio Choklate is Odisha’s first FM radio channel, launched in April 2007 by Eastern Media Private Limited entertainment division.
