Red FM talent show targets India university freshers

India’s Red FM put on talent shows for university students across 15 cities over the past month as part of a campaign to reach out to freshers.

College Ke Tashanbaaz invited entries from aspiring singers, dancers, comedians and all-round entertainers.

The contest saw several colleges participate from cities like Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, Pune, Nagpur, Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Nashik, Siliguri and Jamshedpur.

The Red FM team picking one winner from each college round.

Each city then held a grand finale event where the finalists battled it out to be named the overall city winner.

Red FM’s Chief Operating Officer Nisha Narayanan said: “There is surplus talent among the youth of our country, who are looking for opportunities to showcase it.  Initiatives like ‘College Ke Tashanbaaz’ provide the right platform for the youngsters in smaller cities to showcase their talent and make it big.  The activity has been very well received across the 15 cities and we have seen a huge turnout across all events.”
