Jakarta’s 101Jak FM helped celebrate Indonesia’s traditional culture of batik making by encouraging listeners to send photos of themselves wearing unique batik designs.
Every October, the country holds national Batik Day where people are asked to wear traditionally designed outfits including dresses, shirts and blouses.
Jak FM received more than 1,200 tweet pics from listeners at offices and homes around Jakarta.
One photo, from the company ANZ Juanda, had 378 participants in the picture and was declared the overall competition winner to receive a lunch box.
101Jak FM, owned by Mahaka Media, launched in 2007.
It targets 25-35 year old listeners with a mix of contemporary Indonesian music.
