ABC staff will be forced to walk to a pigeonhole to collect their mail under a streamlined public broadcaster to be unveiled on Wednesday. The overhaul of outdated mailroom systems is one of the recommendations of an efficiency review that Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull will use to justify a $50 million-a-year funding cut to the ABC and SBS. Fairfax Media understands other key savings measures recommended by the review include a shake-up of procurement and streamlining a patchwork of IT systems and marketing operations.
