Carlton and the Price of living on Struggle Street.

In a radio interview David Oldfield once said of Pauline Hanson’s followers that if she had kidnapped and murdered their children, they would help her hide the evidence from police. If the same could be said of Alan Jones’ core audience, then they’re going to be hard to shift.

If they didn’t like Steve Price’s politics, they’ll loathe Mike Carlton’s. And they’ll hate Josh Szeps’ deft impersonations of John Howard as he ridicules the conservative right.

To reach the double figures he needs to put UE back on the media buyers’ list, one would think that Carlton will have to wrest some audience away from GB as well as from the affable Angela Catterns on ABC 702. Or maybe, just maybe he’ll pick up a younger audience tired of fart jokes from the morning crews and looking for a little more substance.

What do you think? Is this the start of the UE resurgence or just another shuffle of deck chairs. Please post your predictions here.
